Who We Are
Dutch Manufacturing is a high school program that is focused on developing students for the ever-growing world of Advanced Manufacturing.
These skills that are being developed throughout this course will translate into a qualified individual that will be successful in the manufacturing sector, post-secondary education and/an apprenticeship/internship type of program.
How We Are
The model that Dutch Manufacturing uses to develop the advanced manufacturing skills that are needed in the 21st Century workplace are 3 fold:
- Site based Learning – Students participate in site visits of local manufacturing facilities. Also, invite guest speakers that are experts in the fields into the classroom to discuss the Powdered Metal and Carbon process.
- Student-Led Enterprise – Students are involved in starting and running their own manufacturing business. This business is responsible for social media outlets such as website design and maintenance, drafting and engineering products, manufacturing those products out of Powdered Metal or machining and the shipping of products to our customers.
- Online learning through the use of an extensive interactive e-Learning system. This system also provides the students with the ability to practice their skills on virtual simulators and/or hands-on trainers.
What We Do
Dutch Manufacturing has the ability to manufacture products using three different methods.
- With the help of our machine shop, we have the capabilities to turn, mill, grind, hone, engrave and weld metals.
- Also on site, we have access to a 20 Ton Powder Metal single action press. This press has the ability to make powder metal parts with a maximum of 5 inches of surface area.
- In our lab, Dutch Manufacturing has AutoCad and Solid Edge along with 3D printers that have the ability to print out prototypes or individual products for use.
